This week the ASV World Languages Department held the annual celebration ASV Language Day, which celebrates the linguistic and cultural diversity of the ASV community and brings to ASV the spirit of the International Mother Language Day, a global event promoted by the UNESCO every year on February 21.
Following the school philosophy, the purpose of this activity was to promote an open-mind reflection on cultural similarities and differences. Students in Middle and High School enjoyed special assemblies in which volunteer students showed the ASV diversity through poems and songs in different languages.
Besides performances done using the languages present in the ASV curriculum, the assemblies featured poems and songs in Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian or Chinese, all of them performed by native students.
