ASV Joins an Engaging Cross-curricular Project Connected to a New Space Mission

Several High School Classes will have a great learning opportunity during the 2021-2022 Academic Year: a cross-curricular project with the European Space Agency and eight secondary schools in France, Portugal, Guiana and Spain! The activity, called Learn to Learn with a Blob! has been promoted by the Academie de Toulouse and has been included in the 2021-2022 eTwinning program, one of the platforms of the educational European initiative Erasmus+.

This learning project will combine classroom activities in French and Biology“The opportunity came to ASV through Mr.  Benoît Truchetet, a Math teacher in a private school in Toulouse. He has offered ASV and other schools in Europe to reproduce the same biology experiment that the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet is performing in 2021 aboard the International Space Station,”  ASV World Languages Coordinator Ms. Elena Martí describes.  “Before reaching the lab sessions, we will develop a planning stage which will provide our students with a special opportunity to experience team-work, practice French in a scientific context, and develop important skills such as critical thinking and problem solving,” Ms. Martí highlights.

The ASV team is comprised of three more teachers: Ms. Sofía Sánchez (French) and Ms. Carolina Nonay and Dr. Irma García (Science Department). The school community is invited to learn more about the project, which will start on September 2021, on this website
