American School of Valencia was represented by the ASV IT Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Landete, in the Google Education Innovators. Held last week at Google’s headquarters in Mexico DF, this event was a three-day conference for 25 teachers coming from United States, Spain, and several Latin American countries, all of them selected by their innovative teaching practices.
“The goal of GoogleEI was to encourage us to promote and support change in our schools”, Mr. Landete told after returning to ASV. “The event started with a general conference and then it was made up of short sessions in which educators can share ideas and collaborate to define their innovation projects”, he explained. Participants are introduced to Google’s 10x philosophy: “This vision invites to set a “moonshot”, a really big goal instead of focusing on short-term challenges”.
After taking part in Google EI, Mr. Landete joins the small group of Spanish educators officially certified as Google Innovators. He is also the only one who has also the certifications “Google Trainer” and “Google Apps Administrator”.
