American School of Valencia held the Graduation and Award Ceremony of the Class of 2023 on Friday, June 2, 2023. This major event in the academic year took place at the Athletic Center and was attended by many parents, family members, former students, as well as administrators and faculty-staff.
The event featured an opening speech by Claudia Blasco Sirera, Salutatorian of the Class of 2023. Additional speeches were delivered by Ms Katherine Matles, US Consular Agent in Valencia; President of the ASV Board of Governors, Mr Israel Garcia; Mr. Michael L. Smith, Director; Mr. Josep Vicent Frechina, MS-HS Assistant Director, who was also the master of ceremonies of the event along Mr. Matias Benlloch (High School Assistant Principal).
As is traditional, the closing student speech is made by the Valedictorian. Due to exceptional circumstances, there were two Co-Valeditorians from the Class of 2023: Pau Pascual Béjar and Danila Kozlov, who were honored as the student’s with the highest Grade Point Average of the graduating class.
In addition to honoring the accomplishments of the 31st graduating class in the school history, the speeches praised the great values of the new graduates, thanked families for trusting their children’s education to ASV, and offered significant reflections on the challenges of education in the age of artificial intelligence and the information revolution.

Senior Walk
On June 1, Grade 12 students experienced a relatively new ASV tradition: the Senior Walk. This event is an opportunity to receive the recognition of the whole school community. Wearing their caps and gowns, the Seniors (Grade 12 students) completed a walk throughout the school campus and finishing outside after passing by the Preschool entrance. Enjoy the video!
