ASV-CSN Exchange

Thirteen students and two teachers from Community School of Naples completed the stay in Valencia as part of the exchange program between CSN and ASV. They arrived on March 13 and were able to see part of the Fallas celebration in our campus. Two days later they had a field trip to Peñíscola (Castellón) with their exchange peers and the ASV exchange programs coordinators, Ms. Haynes and Mr. Boyer.

All of the students are in Middle School and this was the first time they participated in a exchange program, although some got to know thanks to their siblings. “Children have been immersed in the local culture, which is a key part of the exchange program, and they loved the host families,” CSN teacher Elizabeth Erickson commented.

Some students were surprised by “the architecture” and “the atmosphere” of the city and, needless to say were shocked by the Fallas festival. “They say it was really fun and that the mascletà or the burning were amazing; we do not see that that in the United States,” Jimmi Stevens (World Languages teacher at CSN) said.

The group traveled back to Florida this past weekend but, as their teachers say, “strong bonds have been created and kids will keep in touch, sure”.
