Students in Grades 10, 11 and 12 attended the January 2025 Alumni Talk led by three members of the Class of 2024 who are currently studying in the United Kingdom: Alexandra Domenech, Zlatan Celjo and Diana Simón. The presentations offered an overview of their university and key aspects of UCAS, the British application system.
Alexandra is studying History at the University of Edinburgh. Zlatan was admitted to study Aeronautical Engineering in Glasgow and Diana is studying Biotechnology in Nottingham. Another graduate, Jaša Grbić, joined the campus tour with Ms. Cinosi (ASV University Counselor) and Ms. Forner (Marketing Director and Alumni Coordinator).
The alumni shared insights into the challenges of living alone, adapting to a new country, and experiencing culture shocks, particularly with food. They also discussed how the academic workload in university differs from the IB program, emphasizing the significant amount of time dedicated to independent study. Additionally, they highlighted how the IB program had prepared them for these challenges, giving them a clear advantage over students who had not gone through the IB curriculum. This allowed current students to appreciate the value of their IB experience and understand the importance of effective time management in university life.
