The American School of Valencia celebrated its 43rd anniversary on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Our school opened as the Colegio Hispano-Americano with an initial enrollment of 27 students on this same date in 1980.
ASV was created by a group of visionary families who were committed to create the first American and English-speaking school in Valencia. The preliminary works started in 1978 and included official inquiries to the Spanish education authorities, the close support of the American Embassy and the Middle States Association, and an agreement with the owners of the residential area Los Monasterios to purchase a portion of land to build an international school.
From these humble beginnings, ASV has prospered and grown to be the leading international school in the Valencia region. Please, review some major milestones in the school’s history such as the construction of the main building –to host the Elementary classes and in later the High School grade levels–, the first graduating class and the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
