Antonio Villuendas Pina Signs National Letter of Intent with OAK

Toni-Villuendas_signingAntonio Toni Villuendas Pina, an ASV 12th grade student, signed his National Letter of Intent with Oakland City University (Indiana, United States) on Monday, May 25, 2015 with his parents, ASV’s Director, Assistant Director and Athletic Director present. Toni will study Business Administration and Sports Administration at Oakland City University while simultaneously training as a soccer player for the university team. Based on his academic and athletic achievements, he will earn a dual academic and athletic scholarship to attend the university.

“Oakland is a small city in Indiana and this university has great sports facilities,” Toni explained. Regarding the reason he chose Oakland, Antonio explained he liked “the level of its soccer team and the reputation of the Sports Administration Degree.”

As part of his new life as a student-athlete, Toni will train every morning from 06:00 to 10:00 and then attend daily classes after training. He will then play competitive matches against other NCAA university soccer teams on weekends along with his teammates.

According to ASV’s Director, Michael L. Smith, “This is an amazing opportunity for Toni to complete his university studies, play a sport that he is very passionate about and as a result of both his academics and athletics, he has an opportunity to study in the United States with a nice scholarship. He has the best of both worlds.“

On behalf of the staff, faculty and students of ASV, we certainly wish Toni the best at university and on his new team.
