This week, ASV remembers the anniversary of the devastating DANA of October 29, 2024. We remember the 229 lives lost and the extensive damage to the Horta Sud area -among other towns- caused by this catastrophic flood.
One year ago, the ASV community’s response was coordinated by an internal committee that evaluated initiatives and finally organized the ASV Fun-Run. This all-school relay run was coordinated by our community on the last day of classes before the Winter Break and successfully raised €14,000 to aid reconstruction efforts through Fundació Horta Sud.
Our community also donated over 1,500 books to the Aldaia Public Library and channeled contributions from our fellow American school in Barcelona, Benjamin Franklin International School. One year after this tragic event, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting one another as a caring and collaborative community.
