Both Grade 6 classes recently had an exceptional learning opportunity: a “visiting teacher” in their Social Studies course. Dr. Rut Expósitor, the teacher in charge of the Economics courses in High School, taught a lesson on good exchange in ancient and modern societies, the birth and evolution of money, and how nations define and run their monetary policies.
“We may think that this topic is too complex for a student in this grade level,” Ms. Expósito says, “but these boys and girls use money in their life and they know it has a value for individuals and societies. Upon these experiences, students engaged with the lesson and were able to ask interesting questions and well-focused comments.”
