Guiding a Smooth Return to School Routines
Establishing home routines are essential for ensuring a confident and smooth return into campus life, especially for our youngest learners or students entering into a new section or a demanding stage. The ASV Infirmary wishes to share the following suggestions:
- Gradual Routine Integration: Re-establish consistent sleep and waking schedules to ease the adjustment to morning routines.
- Screen Time Reduction: Incrementally reduce daily device usage, especially before bedtime, to improve focus, mood, and restful sleep.
- Nutrition: Review eating habits by planning balanced meals and structured snack schedules.
- Physical Activity: Encourage daily movement and outdoor exercise to support physical well-being and release built-up energy.
- Stress Management: Foster open conversations about feelings, expectations, and any anxieties regarding the new school year to build emotional resilience.
By taking these intentional steps together, we ensure every child and teen experiences a balanced, caring, and successful start to the school year—because a good start truly makes all the difference.

Essential Guidelines for Proper Backpack Use
Keep in mind these ergonomic recommendations to ensure students carry their daily materials safely and comfortably:
- Weight Limit: A fully packed backpack should never exceed 10–15% of your child’s total body weight.
- Sizing by Age: Backpack height should fit the child’s torso without exceeding back length.
- Ergonomic Fit: The lower edge of the backpack must rest at waist level or up to 5 cm above it.
- Padded Protection: Choose models with broad, cushioned shoulder straps and a padded back panel.
- Smart Packing: Teach students to place heavier items closest to their back to prevent irregular pressure points and balance the weight distribution.
