American School of Valencia places an important emphasis on the learning outcomes and academic results of students and graduates. Year by year they show their outstanding preparation through external assessments such as MP Growth, the International Baccalaureate Exams, or the university entrance exams. In 2016-2017 these were the most significant achievements.
Spanish University Entrance Exam
The students from the Class of 2017 who took the Spanish university entrance exam for international students earned an average result of 8.37. The exams, organized by UNED, define the admission grade each student will have when applying to a Spanish university. This is the highest result in the long and distinguished history of ASV.
Admission to International Universities
A significant number of ASV students take the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, which is admitted by a high number of universities all around the world. From a total number of 50 graduates in 2017, 27 planned to study abroad. Year by year ASV students are admitted by prestigious universities in United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, United States or America, and Canada.
Outstanding results in MAP
ASV administers twice annually the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests. Once again, students taking these exams (grades 3 through 10) earned outstanding results, substantially above the international MAP norms. MAP is a external test used to measure the individual growth of students in key areas such as reading comprehension in English and Math.
These three achievements speak about the quality and consistency of the ASV academic programs. Learn more on the ASV difference by visiting the section Academics on the school website.
