On Thursday, October 10, and Friday, October 11, ASV held the 2019 Professional Development Days focused on the Understanding by Design framework with the guidance of Ms. Elizabeth Imende.
As part of the design and alignment process, staff have identified Transfer Goals in each of their subject areas. Transfer Goals are the central ideas of the discipline that we want the student to have for years to come, and even beyond graduating from ASV. After identifying the Transfer Goals (which some teachers talked about during Parent Night), staff have now turned their attention to working across grades within their subject area to identify how they will assess progress over time.
