Kinder and Grades 1 and 2 celebrated on Thursday, February 17, 2022, the completion of 100 days of school. Homeroom teachers in these classes coordinated a number of learning activities highlighting this milestone and integrating the idea of large numbers into the lesson plan.
In Kinder, families were invited to dress their children as elderly people. In Grades 1 and 2, students came wearing homemade “100 Days” t-shirts. Activities in class included making 100-days crowns and glasses, Math activities reinforcing the use of tens, and reading activities around time and age.
Many American schools organize special events on the 100th day to celebrate that time passes and students grow in maturity and knowledge.
