ASV faculty and staff participated in a day of Professional Development, “an opportunity for everyone to learn and grow as educators” on Friday, October 8, 2021.
Participants followed sessions according to their sections and roles within the school. Those included workshops on standards-based grading, Kinder-Grade 2 phonics, and handwriting, curriculum planning, use of technology, data-supported assessment, and interdisciplinary sessions involving a variety of collaborative planning scenarios.
ASV was also honored to host Dr. Lee Ann Jung from San Diego State University (US) who has been collaborating with the academic leadership team and team leaders on the expansion and implementation of standards-based grading. Dr. Jung is an internationally renowned educator who collaborates with international schools and schools in the United States with inclusion in education and effective assessment practices.
